Snow covered street (Victor, Iowa) in 1870. The photos were likely taken following the March 14-16, 1870 blizzard that dumped 16" snow from parts of Iowa into Minnesota.

Another heavy snowstorm has prevailed all over the North-west since yesterday [March 14], and the trains are more or less blockaded. It is estimated in Minnesota that the snow is three feet dep on a level and about two feet deep in Wisconsin.
